Impacted Teeth

What’s an impacted tooth? That’s when the tooth is stuck and cannot break through the tissue of the jaw.

Impacted teeth are very common. They get stuck in the jaw and can end up developing painful infections as well as other issues. Any teeth in the mouth can be impacted. This is usually caused by something getting in the way of normal eruption.

What Happens to Impacted Teeth?

If it is possible to bring the tooth into proper alignment, we work with your orthodontist to make space and bring the tooth into place.
If it is not possible to bring the tooth into alignment, the tooth is usually removed. Wisdom teeth that are impacted are generally removed.
